Canadian 4-piece VALLEY initially met due to a twist of fate when a studio double booked two bands. When the engineer suggested they play together, the chemistry was quickly undeniable and VALLEY was born.
In 2016, the born and bred Canadians, Rob (vocals), Mike (guitar), Alex (bass), and Karah (drums) released their first EP, “This Room Is White”, to critical acclaim. Since it’s release it has amassed over 10M streams and has also landed the group some major sync places.
Now ready to make their major label debut, they have recently released the lead single, “Closer to the Picture”, off of their forthcoming album, “Memory”. The uplifting Indie Pop jam sees the group bringing a funk infused, retro twang with massive chants, soft spoken vocals and clean and groovy production that plays as, “an anthem for the outcasts. The new single is only a taste of what is to come from the new project which was written and produced by VALLEY in collaboration with Andy Seltzer (Maggie Rogers, Tor Miller, Penguin Prison).
About the lead single, VALLEY says it’s about, “That sensation of feeling isolated in a crowd of friends is the thread that weaves throughout the album. While the music itself remains mostly uptempo and major key, the songs themselves speak to a generational malaise from the falling in and out of touch with friends who increasingly exist only through a digital medium.”
