While Zimbabwean artist Bantu may have only launched his career as an artist in 2016, that hasn’t stopped him from racking up some major credits behind the scenes. The Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer has worked with heavyweights like, Jason Derulo, Rita Ora, A$AP Rocky, Camila Cabello, Pitbull and Chris Brown, but it is now his project taking center stage.
Releasing his debut EP, “Africa for the Summer“, in August 2017, Bantu has found his stride creating world influenced jams that are undeniable from the airwaves to the club. His latest offering, “Roll With Me”, is co-written with critically acclaimed songwriter, musician, poet and philanthropist, Shungudzo, while Jonas Blue lent a hand in production and Shungudzo and ZieZie deliver vocals. Serving as the first release on new label Blue Future, founded by Jonas Blue and his manager in partnership with Virgin EMI Records, the new release is a vibrant danceable jam that comes along with a dope video to bring it all to life. Simplistic and catchy lyrics couple with undeniable melodies and a pumping Afro inspired production to create a jam worthy tune that crosses borders. The video, Directed by James Davis II and Bantu and choreographed by Lindiwe Rose, the Roll With MeDance video features dancers Brooke Boyd, Jessenia Velazquez, Andranita Smith-Shannon and Kassy Francis showcasing varying dance moves coming out of Africa at the moment, (including the shaku from Nigeria, and the head vosho and the gwara gwara from South Africa).
