Raised in Bedford, UK, in a music-filled Italian household, new artist Vanela has officially just launched her solo career with her debut single, “World Away”. While she has been singing and writing songs for some time, 2019 helped to set things in motion as Vanela was able to perform alongside Stamina MC while also working with the successful American band RDGLDGRN. With her talents having already penetrated the masses – you might recognize her voice from the theme song of ITV’s ‘Ladies of London’ – Vanela is now taking the next step in what is shaping up to be a fruitful career as an artist in her own right.
Her new single, “World Away”, was originally written in her bedroom before she reached out to LA producer Zaro Vega who put the finishing touches on the tune. Taking inspiration from Kanye West’s ‘808s & Heartbreak’ and Lorde’s ‘Royals’, the duo decided to craft a muted, minimal electronic gem that puts Vanela’s silky vocals out front while bouncing synthetic melodies set the mood.
With her debut single already finding support from BBC Music Introducing, Vanela is primed to make some major waves in 2020. Quality lyrics, concise arrangements and clean production all come together to make sure her first single will be turning heads. Make sure you check it out.
