Eighteen year old Nigerian/Scottish songwriter Tayo Sound has released his expressive new music video “Runaway”. Featuring animation and FX by long term collaborator Bedrooms, the video features a cartoon Tayo searching for the Space Monkey Nova who has gone looking for his family. You know…your typical Tuesday. The playful/fun video pairs seamlessly with the buoyancy of his new track – gripping the hearts of thousands of listeners from around the globe. The end of his chapter chasing Nova the Space Monkey, we’re saddened by their journey’s end but happy that the monkey has made it back to where he belongs.
The catchy new single will make a fan out of anyone as Tayo explores alt pop vibes and lighthearted visuals. Nothing but danceable, he gracefully explores emotional vibes with his new hit which is bound to see the success of his previous singles. Tayo has now hit nearly 7m streams combined across all platforms and seen UK and US press coverage from the likes of i-D, Dork, NME, DIY, Clash, Lyrical Lemonade and MTV. He’s also seen love from likes of BBC Radio 1’s Greg James, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and Jack Saunders, (with ‘Someone New’ receiving BBC Introducing ‘Track of the Week’) and BBC Radio 2’s Jo Wiley; as well as ongoing support from Spotify and Apple Music. With more fantastic music to come in 2021, Tayo Sound is only set for big things.
