Starting at the young age of 11, NYC based Annalise Azadian began to teach herself how to play guitar and write songs. It didn’t take long until she realized that music was an undeniable force in her world, leading to what seems like a lifetime of creating and where we are today. Since she began, Annalise has graced the stage at The Apollo (age 14), been featured on American Idol and studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.
While she may only be 20 years old today, there has been no shortage of experience and support. Having already performed at over 80 venues, she continues to garner support from industry heavy weights, most notable Elton John. With a number of successful releases already under her belt, including, “Work In Progress“, which landed her support from Ebro on Beats 1 as their #BoroughBanger, Annalise Azadian shows no sign of letting up.
Her latest release, “Passenger Mirror“, is yet another stand out single in what I’m sure will be a long and fruitful career. The stunning yet haunting tune sees Annalise touching on her insecurities about where she is going in life as she compares her goals to the warning on a car’s mirror… “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.” Her stand out vocal performance brings a soulful, powerful and tender vibe to the track while a modern symphonic production lays beneath. Lush strings, big hits and sharp piano chords all come together to create an organic and touching base for Annalise to shine.
From the lyrics to the performance, the vocals pull you in making it easy for the listener to relate. To match the single, an official video shows Annalise Azadian packing up her car and heading down a long and winding road to a destination unknown. On her journey she takes time to reflect (literally) on where things may be heading. All in all this is a tune that I can’t seem to get enough of.
