It was about a year ago that I first I feel in love with (the music of) buzzing German born Toronto based Pop-iconoclast bülow. Having made major waves with debut EP, “Damaged Vol. 1”, and the follow, “Damaged Vol. 2”, bülow quickly landed on the radar of tastemakers around the world and has since continued to cement her title as an undeniable artist to watch. Having gotten me hooked from the very start, I have been paying close attention to the fast-rising Juno Award winning (Breakthrough Artist of the Year) star.
While her single, “Two Punks In Love”, has become somewhat of an unofficial anthem for my wife and I (we know it’s a bit dysfunctional), bülow has kept me hanging on with every release. After dropping her acclaimed EP, “Crystalline”, earlier this year, bülow teamed up with The Chainsmokers and Ty Dolla $ign for the massive collaboration, “Do You Mean”, and has now unleashed the first single, “Boys Will Be Boys”, from her new EP due out October 4th.
Keeping the heat on, the new single is yet another attitude laced Pop smash and once again allows bülow to show exactly what she is made of. About the release, she says, “Its ironic. A ‘fuck you’ to old sayings that reinforce negative bullshit.” With a sound, style and swag all her own, bülow has taken the industry by storm and shows no sign of letting up. On top of the new project, she will also be joining LAUV for a tour this fall – which I’m sure will be a show you don’t want to miss.
