Since releasing her most recent tune, “Princesses Don’t Cry”, Toronto native CARYS has seen some major growth in her presence in the Pop world – thanks in part to the viral spread of the tune on TikTok. Having amassed over 850K videos using the tune and over 17M views, her new tune is without a doubt connecting with the masses. The empowering tune features moody vocals over a pumping beat – blending dark toplines with deep, muted synths.
Now preparing to release her new EP in 2020, CARYS Is back in the studio with producer Gavin Brown (Metric, Mother Mother) and ready to hit hard in Q1. To tie fans over while they wait for the new material, CARYS just unveiled the official video for, “Princesses Don’t Cry”, about which she says, “I wanted the video to be about owning your emotions. Feelings of heartbreak can be overwhelming. But bottling them up is what hurts the most. I want to show that it’s powerful and freeing to allow hurt to exist within us without resistance.”
