Continuing her wave of rising momentum, indie pop artist Sophia Alexa is back with a catchy new track entitled "Hit and Run". A quick follow-up to her debut single "House of Cards", "Hit and Run" came about after she noticed herself feeling the need to escape every time she got too close to someone. The feeling of being trapped took over and it felt suffocating. Recognizing her desire to escape as a defense mechanism, she decided to channel her feelings into her new track in hopes that her experience would prove relatable to others.
While writing her track, she embodied the juxtaposition of up-tempo drums and the harsh reality of the lyrics, hoping listeners would be more receptive to her message if it was surrounded by buoyant sounds. Raised in Amsterdam and now in London, the young singer-songwriter developed her sound while listening to classic artists like Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Stevie Nicks. Her folk-inspired pop sound resonates with listeners across the globe and we look forward to hearing what she has in store next!
