Hailing from Croydon, the home of Stormzy, Section Boys and Krept and Konan, Hardy Caprio is next up to put on for his city. After building steam first with his SBTV Warm-Up session, the 21 year old quickly followed with his Hardy Season EP and Hollywood EP in 2017 – leading to him landing on artist to watch lists for major tastemakers including BBC 1Xtra, The Independent, Music Week, The Sun, Nation of Billions and Clash magazine.
Wish major wind beneath his wings, there is no doubt Hardy Caprio is poised to take of this year. Coming out of the gate with a sold out headline tour and slots at some major upcoming festivals, Hardy Caprio has just released a new single, “Rapper”, and it is an absolute jam. Produced by CallMeTheKid, the track incorporates some Afro vibes via bright melodies playful percussion slick rhythms.
Most impressive about the track is Hardy Caprio’s flow which perfectly compliments the production while he goes back and forth between melodic tones and hard hitting bars. Premiered by DJ Target on Radio 1Xtra, it isn’t hard to understand why he is garnering such major support after just one listen.
While, “Rapper”, was my first intro to the fast rising artist, it was all I needed to know that I had to dig a bit deeper and check out his previous projects. Real life lyrics, incredible vocal presence and an undeniable swag are delivered with every tune. This track has been in HEAVY rotation for me and I’m sure it will be for some time to come.
