After taking a bit of a hiatus to realign, rediscover and do some soul searching, Jamar Rogers surprised fans late last year by relaunching his solo project and introducing them to his brand-new sound. With the release of, “Sugar Baby,” Jamar took a step back from his longstanding reputation as a powerhouse vocalist and delivered a moody, melodic, and meditative track that quickly garnered the support of music lovers far and wide. While he continued to finalize his next batch of singles over the winter months, Jamar Rogers decided to bless fans and double down with a remix of, “Sugar Baby,” enlisted buzzing Nigerian artist Kenah to feature on a slick, bumping, revamped beat.
Now ready to kick things into overdrive, Jamar Rogers is back once again on RockDafuqOut Records, this time alongside Òlah Bliss, with, “Sweeten My Body,” vibrant, self-love anthem that is sure to leave you wanting more. With both artists putting their best foot forward, Jamar Rogers and Òlah Bliss craft an absolute stunner that lifts the soul, boosts confidence and will hopefully leave you feeling a bit more comfortable in your own skin. About the release, Jamar Rogers says, “I wrote this song after getting stood up for a date. All these feelings of inadequacy and shame came over me until I remembered that another person’s actions don’t get to dictate how I feel about myself. So I went to the mirror and starting telling myself how dope I am. How strong and resilient I am. And what a fucking privilege it is to know me. This is where, “Sweeten My Body,” came from: the idea of sweetening myself up instead of waiting on someone else to do it.”
Atop a smooth and dynamic beat (by ColorMind, The Vigilanteez and D Major Music), both Jamar and Òlah deliver standout performances. While they both shine individually on the track, the real magic happens when they come together, with their voices blending seamlessly into each other to create what can only be described as heavenly and harmonic wall of sound. Thanks to the poignant lyrics, impressive production, and incredible vocals, “Sweeten My Body,” fires on all cylinders, pulling at the heart strings, touching the heart, and opening the mind; leaving you full of love and light and ready to run it back.
