Since 2015, Alt-Pop duo Joe Murphy and Mark Altamuro, best known by their stage name Kicking Sunrise have been delivering standout tunes. Since their original debut, “Here’s to the Sunrise“, the duo were quick to grab attention around the East Coast and beyond. With their first single helping them secure a spot as CBS3‘s house band, the tune was also adopted as the theme song for the channels morning show.
Since launching, Kicking Sunrise have continued to impress, landing on stages alongside acts like O-Town, Aaron Carter, and Tyler Hilton. Blending slick covers with their original material, they have been hard at work for a number of years steadily growing their fanbase and catalog. most recently, they have come back with an infectious new single, “Rest Of My Life“. Written as a proposal song for Joe to ask his girlfriend to marry him, the official music video also features footage from that special day that neither of them will soon forget.
The bright, bubbly, uplifting new single is cute as hell, but also brings a commercial appeal and relatability that helps it be so much more than just a proposal song for one of the band members. With lyrics that connect with whoever gets to listen, smooth vocals and a minimal, muted, bouncy production setting the tone, their latest offering is without a doubt a song that can stand the test of time. Do yourself a favor and give this one a listen – then go call your significant other and tell them how much you love them ;).
