With already tens of thousands of streams online, not to mention being added to more than forty Spotify playlists and supported by blogs such as Synth Pop Lover and Come Here Floyd, LA-based artist Maripo$a has now returned to unveil the official video for her latest hit single ‘Call Me Back’.
Produced by Fantom, ‘Call Me Back’ looks to take the bold and exciting alt-pop direction of artists like Charli XCX and Clairo to glittering new heights. Filled with bright and bouncing production, alongside her own sugary sweet vocals, the new offering is the perfect remedy to get you through these troubling times.
The new self-directed video, working alongside cinematographer Mike Williamson, sees the artist escape through a number of bright and glamorous guises that fit her own multifaceted direction.
Speaking about the new single, she said, “‘Tell me you know something about love, tell me you know how to pick me back up.’ I wrote this song during quarantine and knew the world needed a positive vibe for the summer. I took myself out of the sadness and placed myself in the perspective of a perfect summer time. At first listening you’d assume I’m speaking about another person here but I’m really speaking about myself, and being able to take myself out of a bad time and create my own happiness. The song is about love, loving yourself and sharing that love with someone special. Remembering to live in the moment and just have fun, even when that seems impossible.” Watch the video for ‘Call Me Back’ below:
