Raised in Philadelphia, now based in LA, buzzing Indie Pop artist Payson Lewis has been non-stop since first moving to California to attend USC. Shortly after graduation, Payson took a major leap and auditioned for NBC’s The Sing-Off, where he placed fourth and got his first real taste of stardom. Since then, the multi-talented artist has continued to add highlights to his resume including the release of his debut project, “Take Me Apart”, credits on multiple major motion picture soundtracks, and acting gigs on several TV shows including Jane the Virgin, The People vs. OJ Simpson, and How I Met Your Mother.
Now ready to give fans more of what they have been waiting for, Payson Lewis has recently unleashed his latest single, “Nothing To You”. Produced by Ben Soldate the new tune features rhythmic guitar laid out by Adam Tressler and a driving feel that keeps the tune chugging along from beginning to end. With the beat remaining somewhat minimal, Payson Lewis is left plenty of space to allow his powerful vocals to cut through. Delivering a hopeful, attitude laced performance, the tunes lyrics touch on toxic love and the crossroads that come when a relationship has reached the end of the road.
About the tune, Payson Lewis says, “We’ve all been there. Used up by love. Broken down by the one that was supposed to build us up. We look back and it’s obvious, but for some reason, we ignored the signs. Brooke Jenkins and I sat down and wrote this song from the scars of a love gone wrong. A love where the only option was to get out before it was too late. Before there was nothing of myself left.”
