RockDafuqOut Records & BonFire Records Team Up to Launch New Independent Dance Label - Wake The Neighbors

We can all agree that the last thing we need is ANOTHER indie label – right? Perfect. On that note….

RockDafuqOut Records and BonFire Records are proud to announce the launch of their BRAND NEW, INDEPENDENT, JOINT VENTURE, HOUSE MUSIC LABELWake The Neighbors (hold your applause).

Wake The Neighbors will focus on discovering new talent, breaking industry rules, shaking things up, and most importantly having a ton of fun with the music. With a brand ethos centered the naughtiest hours of the night, and a music repertoire built on the sexiest, grooviest, sauciest side of House music, Wake The Neighbors plans on supplying music-lovers with a never-ending stream of steamy, peak-hour, dancefloor filling club records from artists everyone else will care about in five or so years. If it has the potential to piss off your entire building when played at loud volumes, we’re signing it.

Since launching in 2015, the internet record label, BonFire Records, has proven themselves to be one of the most innovative and artist-centric indies in the game. BonFire Records spent the last decade curating an impressive catalog that has helped springboard the careers of artists like Lizzy Land, Fancy Feelings, and Glaceo. Aside from the flagship label, BonFire Records oversees three sub-labels, WildFire, Burn The Money, and stuff to think about., while also handling distribution for artist launched labels, Shapeless Culture & Wreckroom Records. Calvin Windschitl & Edgar Thornton—two of BonFire’s principal operators—are also the team behind Habitat Financial; a groundbreaking royalty processing and financial management platform built specifically for the music industry. Trust us, these guys know how to get shit done.

Launched in January of 2022 by industry veteran and Tommyboy Entertainment alum, Brian Delaney, NYC-based RockDafuqOut Records may be one of the newest kids on the indie label block but is quickly becoming one of the most respected new labels of the post-COVID era. Like BonFire Records, their journey began in 2015 as a music blog. Through the blog, RDFO secured their spot as a proven tastemaker and trusted partner by supporting and championing thousands of independent artists and building inroads into the hottest corners of undiscovered talent that the internet has to offer. Since its launch, RDFO has pumped out a constant stream of high-caliber releases including titles from Zoë Ferguson, Jamar Rogers, BRKN BLVD and more—quickly amassing a 120+ track catalog and making their mark as a future-indie-powerhouse amongst curators and music lovers.

What started as a “what if” during a discussion with Brian Delaney on Calvin’sIndie Insider with Calvin Windschitl” podcast, quickly turned into a follow up call, some back and forth, and a brand-new dance label. Wake The Neighbors is all about moving fast, having fun, and not taking ourselves too seriously along the way. Both BonFire Records and RockDafuqOut Records will remain operational as independent entities, but the years-long friendship and working relationship born at A2IM’s Indie Week meant that joining forces to launch a joint venture was a near inevitable step in the lives of these two labels.

Does the music industry need another independent label? No.

Are we going to launch one anyway? Hell yes — welcome to the neighborhood.
