I’ve been saying this for a minute, but AUS has so much talent bubbling to the surface and I can’t wait until I can get out there and take it all in.
One of my fav new finds from the land down under comes from Tentendo with his tune, “Dance With Me”, featuring Jordan Dennis. Initially starting in music as a bass player and musician, a recent wrist injury helped to motivate him to dive further into the world of production. Citing Taylor Mcferrin, Flying Lotus, J Dilla and the Roots as his musical inspiration, Tentendo seems to be picking up steam over the last year as a producer since teaming up with rising Melbourne artist Billy Davis.
Now lending production to a number of artists, Tentendo is bringing lush, R&B/Neo-Soul vibes to the scene. On, “Dance For Me”, oscillating synths mesh with thumping kicks and driving basslines to bring an energetic and all out groovy tune, thanks in part to the slick vocals from Jordan Dennis. Jazzy embellishments, crazy lead melodies and minimal background vocals help to round out the tune which knocks from beginning to end. Jordan Dennis brings an undeniable swag to lay down on top of the beat laid by Tentendo which is as funky as it is danceable.
I’m going to have this one rocking in my playlists for a long time coming.
